Prof. Avadhesh Kumar Singh Memorial Lecture Series - Lecture 3

This is the third talk in the Prof. Avadhesh Kumar Singh Memorial Lecture Series delivered by Dr. Sarani Ghosal Mondal, Associate Professor of English in the Department of Humanities & Sciences at NIT Goa.

In the present lecture titled Ecological Humanism: A Study of Henry David Thoreau and Ruskin Bond Prof. Sarani discusses theoretically the concept of ecological concerns in literature offering a background to this area. She provides an insight on Henry David Thoreau and Ruskin Bond's concerns and works on linking the natural wilderness and the human world and discusses their ecological conscience with reference to deep ecology and its sub-disciplines like social ecology or humanistic ecology. She also makes us aware about climate-related issues and the current initiatives undertaken by various organizations and even celebrities in and around Goa to set an example.
