Creation And Compilation of Knowledge With a view to initiating some more healthy practices on the campus, hereby is put for the scheme namely, "Creation and Compilation of Knowledge". University being a higher body of education and hence it is supposed to play a leading role in the creation and compilation of knowledge lying scattered either in our regional languages. Moreover, it needs to be put in the languages know by the whole nation or the world. Our University can take lead in knowledge generation by taking up one or more of the following projects and do a great service to our region, nation and humanity.

Preparation of Encyclopaedia.
Preparation of Thesaurus.
Preparation of Compendium.
Preparation of Glossary.
Preparation of Dictionary of Gujarati cognate with Sanskrit.
Preparation of Dictionary of Critical Terms (Eng. To Gujarati & vice versa)
Preparation of Dictionary of Critical terms for Social Sciences.
Preparation of Dictionary of Legal Terms.
Preparation of Dictionary of Terms for Sciences.

Industry Interaction

Saurashtra University, Rajkot has formed its Industry Institution Interaction Cell (IIIC) in accordance with NAAC guidelines.

The Cell would aim at exploring the possibilities of facilitating interaction betweem Industry and the University, along with finding out the ways mutually beneficial to both.

Its first meeting was held on 24 Dec, 2005 in which 86 industrialists took part. Noted economist Shri Jaynarayan Vyas delivered the key note address and outlined the future course of action

Earn While Learn

The Saurashtra University has implemented the Earn While Learn Scheme to support poor and needy students pursuing their studies on the University campus.

Under the scheme, the University aims at providing accomodation, books and food for students coming from poor families free of charge. The university will bear this burden.

This is a unique scheme in the entire site for poor students. A seperate hostel building is being constructed for the students selected under this scheme.

Renowned donor Shri Dipchandbhai Gardi has donated for this building.

Project Gyan Yatra

With a view to initiating some more healthy practices on the campus, hereby is put the scheme namely,"Project Gyan Yatra".

In this Project, the University will send its teachers to the institutions of excellence in India of international standards. For learning about best practices in teaching and research so that they can be established or started in the University with modifications. For example for science and technology, Jadavpur University; Physics, Poona Univrsity, Sciences, University of Hyderabad; Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University; for various New Centres (JNU, Jadavpur, Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore among others).

Visits by the faculties of our University can be organized and our faculties stay in these Institutions for a week or so and observe, study, interact with faculties and researchers there.

Such visits can be organized in the months of February or March or even later, depending on the mutual convenience of the Universities.

Student Welfare Scheme

Insurance Scheme 1,00,000/- Rs. accidental insurance scheme has been launched by the Univesity for students who are registered with affiliated colleges and P.G. Departments.

Thelesemia test at nominal charges After registration each student of affiliated college and Post Graduate department as well will have Thelesemia test at nominal charges.

To each affiliated college and P.G. Department University provides the equipments for sports and music worth Rs. 10,000/- every year.
