In order to promote excellence in research in higher education Saurashtra University, Rajkot has instituted Professor Dolarrai Mankad Award for Excellence in Research in the memory of its first Vice Chancellor.

Consequent upon it, original research papers published in the year 2005 on the subjects as shown below by the researchers of Universities and Colleges situated in Gujarat State for the award of Prizes of the Professor Dollarrai Mankad Award for Excellence in Research.
