INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES |

Dear Candidate,
Thank you for taking GCET-2007. We welcome you to this Entrance Test and are sure that you have carefully studied all the instructions given in the information Bulletin GCET-2007. You are solely responsible for any lapse, omission or failure to comply with these instructions. Please study the following instructions before you start answering the test. |
| |

| 1. |
WARNING: If you are not fulfilling the eligibility criteria in all respects, you will not be considered for admission irrespective of your appearing and securing any rank whatsoever in the entrance test. |
| 2. |
You are not permitted to bring electronic watches with memory, text/notebooks, loose sheets/slips of paper, logarithmic/mathematical/statistical/scientific tables., calculators, laptop computers, personal stereo systems, walkie-talkie sets, paging devices, mobile phone or any other gadget/device/object that would, in the opinion of your invigilator be of unfair assistance to you. If any such object is found in your possession during the test, you will be disqualified immediately. If you have by oversight, brought any such object(s), please hand it/them over to your invigilator. |

The candidate should remain seated at the seat assigned to him/her by 11:30 a.m. on the day of examination. |
| 4. |
No candidate will be permitted to enter the examination hall after 12:10 P.M. in any case. |
| 5. |
No candidate will be permitted to leave the examination hall before the conclusion of the test time. |
| 6. |
The candidate should carry the admit card for the entrance test. |
| 7. |
Please produce the admit card for the verification, before the concerned official at the test venue. |
| 8. |
The candidate may carry a clip board or hard board (on which nothing is written), and should bring black or blue ink pens, for marking responses on the answer sheet. Before using pen for writing/marking, please read the instructions given in the test booklet /answer sheet carefully and follow the instruction given therein. |
| 9. |
Do not bring into the examination hall any article other than those specified above, including sheets of paper. |
| 10. |
A candidate will receive a single/OMR answer sheet for all the questions in the test booklet. It should not be folded, mutilated, torn or spoiled. |
| 11. |
No candidate shall copy from the papers of any other candidate not permit his/her papers to be copied by another candidate. |
| 12. |
No candidate should misbehave in any manner or create disorderly scene in the examination hall or harass the staff employed by the GCET committee for the conduct of the test. Any such misconduct will be severely penalized. |
| 13. |
Please note that at the end of the test, both the answer sheets and test booklet are to be returned to the invigilator. Taking out the question paper out of the examination hall is a cognizable offense. |
| 14. |
Twenty minutes prior to the commencement of the test you will receive your answer sheet. Please ensure that it is the correct answer sheet and that both of its sides have been printed properly. You will receive the test booklet(question paper) sharply at the beginning of the test. Please ensure that the tested Booklet is printed properly. Please note that each test booklet has a specific five digit test booklet number printed on the front page of the test booklet. |

On the facing page of your answer sheet, please write your name (block capitals please!), Examination seat number (six digit) and test booklet number (five digit), only in English legibly in the spaces provided for the purpose. On the reverse page of your answer sheet, please carefully write your examination seat number and test booklet number in numerals in appropriate boxes using Black/Blue ink pen and completely blacken the corresponding circles. For example if your number is 052356 and the test booklet number is 18960 you shall write it as follows: |

Please note that the order of questions are not the same in all the test booklets and they are jumbled. Hence, for whatever reason never change your test booklet during the examination. |
| 17. |
Sometimes during the examination, the invigilator will visit your seat and verify your identity and signature. You are required to sign the declaration on the answer sheet in his/her presence. |
| 18. |
The examination will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type only. All questions carry equal marks. For every correct answer, full marks will be awarded. There will be negative marking for answers. (For a correct answer 1 marks will be awarded and for a wrong answer 0.25 mark will be deducted). An unanswered question will receive zero mark. |

At the end of the Test, you are suppose to continue sitting at your place, till invigilator tells you to leave the examination hall/room. |

Applications are invited for taking the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GCET) 2007 for admission to the following programmes run conducted by the universities and their affiliated institutes of the State of Gujarat for the academic year 2007-08: |
(1) Two-year Full-Time Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme
(2) Three-year Full-Time Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Programme and
(3) Three-year MBA Evening Programmes of:
(a) Gujarat University at Ahmedabad (B.K. School )
(b) M.S.University of Baroda at Vadodara (Faculty of Mgmt. Studies ) and
(c) V.N. South Gujarat University at Surat (Dept. of Business Management.).
The Information Bulletin-cum-Applicaton Form will be available, in person only, from the following centres from June 23 to July 7, 2007 during the office hours of working days on payment of Rs.600/- (non-refundable) in cash per Bulletin. The Bulletins will not be sent by post or courier. |

Reservation for SC, ST, SEBC including widow/orphan, PH, IN and EX Serviceman will be as per Government of Gujarat rules.
Eligibility Criteria for MBA (full time) and MCA in brief:
(1)Candidates graduated from a University recognized and located in Gujarat State;
(2) Candidates who have graduated in a 3-year course from a University outside Gujarat State but have passed Std. XII or its equivalent examination from a recognized school located in Gujarat State;
(3)(a) For MBA, the candidate should have a minimum of 50% marks in graduation (45% in case of SC/ST candidates);
(b) For MCA, the candidates must have passed
(i) Std. XIIth (HSC) or its equivalent examination or graduation with Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects:
(ii) should have done graduation in any discipline including BCA from any University of Gujarat;
(4) A candidate who has appeared for the final year (Bachelor’s Degree) examination of any University (subject to conditions 1 to 3 above ) shall be treated as provisionally eligible.
Wards of Kashmiri Migrants: One supernumerary seat will be provided in each institute as per inter-se merit of such applicants in the GCET 2007 merit list. For details visit the website.
Three year MBA Evening Programme: The eligibility criteria and other details of these programmes are available in the Bulletin, website and at the respective institution.
The candidates are required to submit their duly filled in application forms, in person, at the centre, which he/she wants to selct as test centre. The names of test centres are given in the Bulletin. Application forms received by post/courier will not be entertained.
Last date for acceptance of duly completed application forms: July 07, 2007.
